As excited as we are about our thrift stores reopening after the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to take the time to thank you, our customers and communities, for standing with Arc of Acadiana by continuing to provide donations.

Keep reading to hear from some of our Day Program Managers in several of our local communities on what it means to them and our members for you to continue to donate and support our stores.

At Arc of Acadiana, your donations and second hand purchases make a huge impact.

Our Customers are Invaluable

Our resale shops are fueled by community donations and the sales from these donations fund the employment of people with intellectual seeking independent futures.

From Us to You

Below, you will hear from our Day Program Managers as they express their gratitude for some of our biggest supporters.

ST. LANDRY ARC RESALE STORE

“St. Landry Arc Resale Stores are committed to providing our customers with only the highest quality merchandise delivered through impeccable customer service.

We would like to say thank you for being loyal customers and shopping with us!

We appreciate the continued support and donations! It has been a pleasure providing supportive services for the community.

We look forward to continuing to provide for your shopping needs for many more years to come.”

Lacie Dunn, St. Landry Program Manager

NEW IBERIA ARC RESALE STORE

“New Iberia is very thankful for our customers and business partners who have stood by us during these trying times.

We appreciate them allowing us to resume services and we have not lost any of our business partners.

We appreciate the public’s support of our resale clothing stores as they continue to donate and shop! We want them to know how much their donations and patronage of our resale stores helps to support our day programs as well as employ our clients.”

Angela Clymer, New Iberia Day Program Manager

FROM OUR LAFAYETTE DAY PROGRAM AND ARC RESALE STORE

“We’re thankful for our Recycling Partners: Lafayette Surgical Hospital, Lourdes Hospital, Heart Hospital, Halliburton, Maritime Oil and Cajun Harley Davidson.

These local businesses have resumed services, which has allowed us to provide some clients the opportunity to get back to work and collect a paycheck.

We’re thankful for Donations received since our reopening May 18th! We’ve received an influx of donations and support, thanking us for reopening and giving our clients the opportunity to resume working.”

Dana Gradney, Lafayette Day Program Manager

Our Passion and Purpose

BECAUSE OF OUR CUSTOMERS WE CAN MOVE FORWARD

Through your generosity and donations, we, at Arc of Acadiana, are passionate about using these items to strengthen the lives of our members and workers, improve our local communities, and make the world a better place by directly and positively affecting those around us. Beyond providing immediate income for our employees, your purchase also fosters job-related skill-training necessary for future employment within our IDD community.

The next time you are stepping out to shop, head to one of our thrift store locations across Acadiana, including Lafayette, Opelousas, Eunice and New Iberia.

Anticipate a warm greeting, quality purchases, and a sense of purpose knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities and our Acadiana communities!
